My name is Danielle Bourg. I personally have been grooming for 7 years and specialize in working with aggressive, nervous, and geriatric dogs. I will give every dog a chance. In a one on one environment, it allows the dog and groomer to develop a trusting bond because of the one-on-one attention. I believe it is very important to remain current in my education by attending at least two large conferences a year where many topics and latest news/techniques are observed. I have certifications through the National Dog Groomer's Association Of America in my Non-Sporting and Terrier breeds. I'm also one of the few Certified Pet Aesthetician's, meaning I Restore the Skin to optimal health. I have been trained to do classic scissor work, handstripping, Asian fusion styling, and creative grooms. I have been in the pet grooming industry since I was 16 and started off as a simple brusher/bather in a high end salon. This shop specialized in the most aggressive, nervous, and elderly dogs and cats. I learned in a very tough environment and was taught many techniques for safely handling and grooming these special needs dogs. I had three wonderful teachers and mentors who all had different areas of expertise; Elizabeth (Liz) Hanley Legas was my main mentor. She has been in the grooming industry for over 30 years. Liz worked as the kennel manager for a show kennel of American Cocker Spaniels and was a top notch handler for many breeds of terriers. She also bred and raised the top Pharaoh Hound at Westminster in 1995. These are the kinds of mentors most groomers dream of having. I am very blessed to have been given such a priceless education.
